How Mosaics Works

Six steps, from choosing your materials to grouting the finished piece. Marion walks you through every one. No experience is needed and all materials are provided.

Step 1

Choose your materials

Bring along or choose from recycled crockery, tiles and broken china. Every piece adds colour and character to your mosaic.

STEP 2

Design your piece

Sketch out your pattern and lay out your chosen pieces to plan the colours and shapes before you begin.

STEP 3

Cut and shape

Break and trim your crockery and tiles into the shapes you need.

STEP 4

Glue it down

Fix each piece onto your base, following your design. This is where your mosaic really takes shape on day one.

STEP 5

Grout your work

On the second day, spread grout across your piece to fill the gaps and lock everything in place.

STEP 6

Clean and finish

After a final dlean and polish your mosaic is ready
