Most people who wet-felt do it in a hall, with fibre that arrived in a bag from somewhere else. At Mahoe Hills, you can felt with fibre from the animal standing in the paddock outside the studio window.
Our alpacas range from white through fawn, brown and grey to black, and their fibre is naturally hypoallergenic -- it contains no lanolin, which makes it noticeably softer to work with than most wool. Students in our felting workshops can choose to use it directly.
(There's also a goat who is fully convinced she's an alpaca. She'll want to say hello.)
[Draft note: pair with photos of the herd and the goat once the image archive is recovered.]
